Sketchbook Theatre presents a workshop reading of Wallace Shawn’s Aunt Dan and Lemon at Lethe Lounge, performed by a formidable ensemble of seven actors in an intimate Upper West Side townhouse. Underscored by live music from Mark Ettinger, this piercing play explores how even the most literate and “civilized” societies can slide, almost politely, into brutality.
In Shawn’s darkly brilliant storytelling, personal charm mixes with political horror, and the distance between private fantasy and public violence grows alarmingly thin. Join us for an up-close encounter with a modern classic that feels more urgent than ever.
Dec 14th at 6pm, Dec 15th at 7pm, Lethe Lounge, UWS
